SUMMARY
The watch presented here is part of Vacheron Constantin’s second-generation Overseas, launched in 2004. Designed by Vincent Kaufmann and watch artist Dino Modolo, the tonneau-shaped case features a fluted bezel meant to evoke the Maltese cross that featured on the iconic Vacheron Constantin 222. Living up to the sports watch namesake, the 42mm case offers 150m of water resistance.
The dial has a black textured finish with contrasting polished steel hour markers and hands, all filled with luminescence. At the 12 o’clock position is the large double date aperture, something seen only on the chronograph models and when combined with the large subdials creates a perfectly symmetric dial. Housed inside the waterproof case is the VC1137 calibre, based on a modified Frédéric Piguet calibre 1185. This self-winding movement is equipped with a 45-hour power reserve.
All watches offered for sale are searched and cleared against The Watch Register database and a certificate is available to the winning bidder upon request.
