SUMMARY

Perhaps the most famous oceanographer to ever live was Jacques-Yves Cousteau, a French French naval officer, filmmaker, and author. IWC has been a strong supporter of the Cousteau Society since 2004, a nonprofit with the aim of marine preservation.

The reference IW354806 was released in 2004, limited to only 1953 pieces. It’s a homage to ‘The Silent World: A Story of Undersea Discovery and Adventure’, a book co-authored by Cousteau and Frédéric Dumas. The model features some quintessential dive watch attributes, 1000m water resistance, a 42mm case size, an internally rotating bezel, and a deep blue dial with bright orange accents for added legibility. Powering this robust tool watch is the IWC calibre 30110 which is based on the ETA 2892-A2, and is equipped with a 42-hour power reserve.

All watches offered for sale are searched and cleared against The Watch Register database and a certificate is available to the winning bidder upon request.

Any watch not covered by a current sales or service warranty should be considered as potentially requiring a service, even if in full working order on the date of purchase.

The description of this auction lot is, to the best of the seller's knowledge, accurate and not misleading. Watch Collecting requests a range of detail about the lot from the seller, and performs a level of due diligence. However, bidders must satisfy themselves as to the accuracy of the description, and conduct any research they feel is necessary before committing to a bid. Please see our Terms and Conditions for full details.
