RolexYacht-Master

The Yacht-Master was introduced in 1992 as a more opulent and upscale alternative to the Submariner. It’s characterised by a case more rounded and fluid than the slab-sided shape of other Rolex sports watches. In 1999, Rolex launched the reference 16622, as we see here. The case is 40mm in diameter and features a bi-directional rotating bezel made from platinum that is media blasted with raised and polished markers.

The dial is also fashioned from platinum and has applied indices and hands in 18K white gold. To add a hint of colour to the monochromatic look, the seconds hand and script are finished in red. Attached to the case is an Oyster bracelet with polished centre links and a fold-over safety clasp. The watch is powered by the tried and tested calibre 3135, which has a 48-hour power reserve and is Chronometer-certified.

This Y serial example, which dates to 2002, is presented in very good condition with some light wear visible on the bezel. Included in the sale are the box, “punch paper” guarantee, calendar card, and swing tag.
