SUMMARY
Originally created in 1939 as a bespoke product for two Portuguese clients, the IWC Portugieser was originally an oversized wristwatch capable of matching the accuracy of a marine chronometer. The Portugieser chronograph was introduced in 1998, and has been largely unchanged since its launch. Its circular stainless steel case - inspired by that of the original Portugieser - plus a simple, aesthetically-pleasing chronograph dial that draws on the tastes of the art deco period of its release has captured the hearts of plenty of watch collectors and enthusiasts the world over.
All watches offered for sale are searched and cleared against The Watch Register database and a certificate is available to the winning bidder upon request. Watch Collecting requests a range of detail about the lot from the seller, and performs a level of due diligence.
