IWCPilot's Chrono

IWC first launched its Spitfire collection in 2003 in tribute to the famed British aircraft. In 2006 it added to the reference IW371702 as we see here, introducing a larger 42mm case and chronograph functionality. In a departure from the brand’s regular Pilot’s watches, the Spitfire model’s introduced more visual flare.

The dial on this example is highly nuanced, with sunken sub-registers, and hour track, all of which have fine concentric circles. A sunburst centre section and applied Arabic numerals provide additional depth and texture. Complementing the silver dial is a factory brown leather strap with contrast stitching. The watch is powered by IWC’s calibre 79320, a highly modified version of the renowned Valjoux 7750 with Chronometer certification and a 44-hour power reserve.

This example is presented in good condition, with some light marks visible on the case. The accompanying factory leather strap shows clear signs of wear. Included in the sale is an IWC box.
