ABOUT THIS WATCH
- The Gondolo line takes its name and inspiration name from the ‘Chronometro Gondolo’ watches created by Patek for the Brazilian jewellers Gondolo & Labouriau in Rio de Janeiro in 1902
- Since then, Patek Philippe has adopted this name to define a range of watches with unusual (non-round) shapes and designs
- This example from the 90s has an elegant rectangular stepped case, which invokes the design of the Gondolo made by Patek Philippe during the 1930s
- Its sleek, thin profile and gently curved case provides a comfortable and ergonomic fit on the wrist
- A highly-legible white dial with black period Arabic numerals and a small seconds counter at six o’clock continue the watch’s Art Deco theme
- The 18k gold case is paired with a black alligator strap finished with an 18K yellow gold pin buckle
- Beneath the caseback beats Patek Philippe’s manual-winding calibre 215PS, which runs at 28,800 VPH and has a 44-hour power reserve
