RolexGMT Master II

This reference 16718 combines all the practicality and versatility of the GMT-Master II in a more refined and upscale 18K yellow gold case and bracelet. The watch strikes a nice balance between classical proportions and modern construction.

Looking closely at the dial, we see the “SWISS” script at 6 o’clock, signifying the use of Luminova in the indices and hands. Known colloquially as “Swiss only”, this configuration was only in production for several years and is sought after by collectors. Also notable on the dial is the gilt printing, which complements the warm tone of the gold.

Housed underneath the screw-down caseback and powering the watch is Rolex’s tried and tested 3185 calibre, which features Chronometer certification and a 48-hour power reserve.

This example is presented in fair condition with some visible marks and scratches on the dial and bracelet commensurate with age and regular wear. The watch’s serial number dates it to 1994, but it was sold new at Bucherer in Zurich in 1999, suggesting that there may have been a gap between case creation at Rolex and final shipping to the retailer. Also included in the sale are the box and “punch paper” guarantee.
