One of the few watches that can be enjoyed as a dressy option just as much as a genuine sports watch, the Datejust has been a staple in Rolex’s catalogue since 1945.

The reference 16220 we see here was produced from 1989 until 1996 and features the elegant yet versatile 36mm stainless steel case. Along with the Jubilee bracelet and fluted bezel, it exudes a sense of luxury like no other watch in its category. The dial, finished in silver, gives the watch continuity and, therefore, a more discreet profile.

Powering the watch is the Rolex calibre 3135, a COSC certified movement with 48 hours of power reserve and quick-set capabilities, allowing for the date to be instantly changed.

This 1991 example is presented in very good condition, consistent with the seller’s AA grading. The seller also notes that the watch was serviced by Rolex in 2021 with the service stickers still on it. Included in the sale are the original box, booklet, guarantee and swing tag, making this a complete set.
