Breitling chronograph watches have a rich history dating back more than 100 years and since its first inception in 1940, the Chronomat line has evolved to become one of the brand’s most popular models.

The visual design of the Chronomats from this period is an interesting blend of ultra-modern and traditional. The "onion" style of the crown and pushers hark back to the crowns of pilot's watches of the 1930s and 1940s. This watch from the 1990s features a large circular case with a screw-down waterproof back, crown and pushers. The watch runs on a Cal. 44, 38 jewel Breitling automatic chronograph movement. The white painted dial features applied luminous stick indexes, outer tachometer graduation and 1/5th seconds scale, subsidiary dials for the seconds, 12-hour and 30-minute registers and aperture for the date at three o'clock topped with luminous yellow gold batons and hands.

This watch, from the 1990s, shows signs of wear commensurate with age. It is presented on a new Hirsch leather strap. It comes with its inner and outer presentation boxes, a spare strap and its original steel bracelet, along with undated and unstamped papers.
