Sell it with usThe Royal Oak’s famous design was created in 1971 by Gerald Genta and was reputedly based on a diver’s helmet, with an octagonal shaped bezel secured by eight visible hexagonal gold screws, a visible gasket and a dial adorned with an exclusive petit tapisserie motif. The watch presented here is an early example of the 4100ST, the first 35mm Royal Oak model, released in 1976. The 4100ST reference (ST stands for steel) is powered by an automatic 2123 calibre derived from the 888 calibre by Jaeger-Lecoultre. Like all Royal Oaks, expert hand-finishing is evident with finely polished elements along the lug hoods and down the shoulders of the bracelet’s links. The watch is secured on the wrist by a folding clasp imprinted with the AP Logo.
This watch shows signs of wear commensurate with its age; some scratches to the case, bezel and bracelet and some minor pitting to the underside of the bracelet. It is offered as a watch only, as seen in the photos, and does not come with a box or papers.
All watches offered for sale are searched and cleared against The Watch Register database and a certificate is available to the winning bidder upon request.
